Annual Men’s Spring Retreat 2025

Friday, March 14^th through Sunday, March 16^th

Holy Trinity Retreat Center in St. David, AZ

ABOUT US:  We are a group of recovering alcoholic men of all races, religious beliefs, ages, and walks of life who have recognized the need for help from a power greater than ourselves. We gather for a retreat weekend in a setting that promotes fellowship and sharing. Our Retreat is an opportunity to be away from the distractions of daily living for a couple of days in order to devote time to spiritual recovery from alcoholism. We use the retreat weekend to focus on one broad topic, led by a Retreat Master who facilitates conferences about a particular topic several times during the weekend. We strive to better learn how to utilize the tools suggested in the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.

OUR RETREAT MASTER:   Fr. John P. Kavcak, M.S.C. is a member of the religious            

congregation “The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart” and was ordained a priest in 1973. After volunteering for the foreign missions, he was sent to the diocese of Kavieng, in Papua New Guinea, where he was made pastor of the Lihir Island parish. After his return and joining AA in 1988, Fr. John has participated in parish ministry, prison ministry, hospital ministry, LGBTQ+ ministry, and others. He has been involved with the retreat community for over 30 years. He is presently pastor of a parish in Palm Springs, CA.

 
DIRECTIONS: from Tucson, travel East on Interstate 10, off at Exit 303 in Benson, South on Highway 80 (Tombstone & Douglas) to St. David (approximately 11 miles) - Monastery is located
south of St. David between Mile Post 302 and 303.

REGISTRATION: Friday from 2:00 pm

                           until 5:30 pm

CHECK–OUT: Sunday at 11:00 am

COST:    $290.00 -     Single Room

                $260.00 -    Double (Shared) Room

                $145.00* -   Commuter - Meals only

(* for RV-ers or sleeping offsite; RV fee of $35/night paid directly to on-site Park Host)

No refunds after 12:00PM on day of retreat.

ABOUT US:  We are a group of recovering alcoholic men of all races, religious beliefs, ages, and walks of life who have recognized the need for help from a power greater than ourselves. We gather for a retreat weekend in a setting that promotes fellowship and sharing. OUR RETREAT MASTER:  

Fr. Steve is a priest of the Diocese of San Bernardino, CA but was      ordained in England in 1981.  Fr. Steve began living the Twelve     Steps in 1990 and has dedicated himself to carrying the message to the next sufferer. During the lockdowns of last year, he was helpful in developing an online fifth step process which helped those needing to progress in the steps.  Fr. Steve has given retreats for the past twenty years.

After his return from Papua New Guinea, Fr. Kavcak has been involved with the retreat community for more than thirty years.
